Team members from Christian Public Service (Mennoite) work on a fallen Pecan tree in Chalmette on Tuesday. The Waveland homeowner had received a notice of demolition if the blighted house in Chalmette was not gutted, secured and lawn mowed by Friday.

Picture taken while I was travelling from working on a school in Algiers back to Chalmette yesterday on the Ferry. What a picture perfect day!

Phillip Morris spent a day in Waveland Friday taping and texturing walls for two families. Mike Smith, from the Fire Department, gave the group of 14 a class on the art of floating and taping. Katrina Relief will be running another class this coming Wednesday - call office for details.

Hancock County Long Term Recovery home goes up in annexed Waveland. Prior this location had a trailer but, thanks to the Amish volunteers and their project C.A.R.E., this is now going to be a solid home built to the updated building code standards.

This home is an 84Lumber house package that comes complete with wiring, plumbing, and sheetrock. The only addition after completion will be cabinets in the kitchen. These complete packages are fast becoming popular due to the variety of designs, fast passage for approval thru the local building departments as multiple have already been constructed, and the ease of budgeting with with the complete plans, specifications and materials package.
